Field Engineer

Project Manager


We are seeking a results-driven Project Manager to join our offices to support our Northeast and Western regions. The ideal candidate will have the desire to work in a quality company with superior products and a reputation for excellence. In this position you will be responsible for day-to-day management of projects, estimating and proposal preparation, business development, contract negotiations, managing change orders and claims, monitoring and managing project schedule, cost control and QA/QC requirements, project invoicing and securing payments.

Qualified candidates should have 5-10 years heavy civil construction or geotechnical construction experience with a BS or MS degree in civil engineering or construction management.

Other requirements include:

  • Strong project management experience in general construction
  • Solid familiarity with all project contractual requirements
  • Proven experience working effectively as a liaison with engineers, general contractors, and owners
  • Experience within project development/marketing preferred

Engineering and Construction Management Internship

Construction Management and Engineering Professionals


We are currently seeking Construction Management and Engineering Professionals including Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers to join our project management team in Chino Hills, CA, in order to support our earth retention (shoring) and small to large diameter drilled foundation projects in the Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire regions of Southern California.

Field Engineers
As a Chino Hills Branch-based field engineer, you will be primarily assigned to various Hayward Baker construction jobsites around the Southern California area, to provide our Project Engineers and Project Managers hands-on assistance with completing their day-to-day project QA/QC, and other technical documentation requirements. This onsite experience will allow you the opportunity to learn about the varied and numerous techniques implemented to productively install earth retention (cantilevered, tie-back, and secant/tangent pile shoring) systems, micropiles, auger-cast piles, large & small diameter drilled piles, secant and tangent pile systems, large dia. access shaft installations for tunneling, and other foundation installation applications. Qualified candidates are encouraged to have a BS degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management. Must be self-motivated, reliable, and possess excellent interpersonal & customer relations skills. Outstanding computer (MS Office), written composition, & verbal communication skills are necessary for success in this position.  

Project Engineers
In this position, you will assist our Project Management/ Field Production Team with day to day responsibilities to support project cycle; procurement through completion. This will provide you with the opportunity to combine strong engineering/project management expertise with hands-on construction while still expanding your technical knowledge. Day-to-day duties include assisting Project Managers, responsibility for QA/QC requirements, compiling information & documentation of project contractual requirements, data acquisition, site visits, pre/post bid assistance, and ongoing project management assistance and written correspondence with customers. Qualified candidates should have a 2-4 years of relevant hands-on construction management or engineering experience. A BS in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management is recommended. Must be self-motivated, reliable, and possess excellent interpersonal & customer relations skills. Exemplary computer (MS Office), written composition, & verbal communication skills are necessary for success in this position.

Project Managers

In this Project Manager position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day new work acquisition and ongoing management of earth retention (shoring) and drilled foundation projects, including: estimating and profitably managing drilled shaft, large diameter drilled pile installation, large diameter access shafts, augercast piles, contaminated soil remediation, earth retention (shoring), and hourly drill crew rental projects. Daily duties will also include occasional jobsite visits, extensive, accurate bid preparation, subcontract negotiations, creation and management of change order requests and claims, monitoring and managing project schedules, cost control and QA/QC requirements, project invoicing, and assistance with securing payment, with an emphasis on building long-term, beneficial Contractor/Owner relationships. Qualified candidates should have 5 - 10 years of Heavy Civil/Structural Foundation or Geotechnical Construction experience, with a BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management recommended. Must be self-motivated, reliable, and possess excellent interpersonal & customer relations skills. Outstanding computer (MS Office), written composition, & verbal communication skills are necessary for success in this position.

Qualified candidates should have 5-10 years Geotechnical Design/Construction experience with a BS or MS degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, and a P.E. license.  

Other requirements include:

  • Solid familiarity with project contractual requirements and proven experience working effectively as a liaison with Engineers, General Contractors, and Owners
  • Experience with liquefaction analysis/seismic design strongly preferred
  • Excellent computer skills and written & verbal communication skills necessary
  • Some travel required
  • Must be willing to participate in business development
